After high school he joined the military and served a few years in the Army and moved around a bit. But, no matter where he’s lived, fishing has always been a part of his life.
Once moving back to Texas in 2011 he became familiar with exploring and fishing the flats around the Aransas Pass and Port Aransas areas. The real obsession started when he bought a Gheenoe and became serious about stalking and sight fishing for redfish in skinny water.
He now lives in McAllen, Texas and specializes in sight fishing on the fly while on his East Cape Fury. The Lower Laguna Madre is his home now but frequently fishes and is very familiar the bays and back lakes from Port O’Connor down to the Southern tip of Texas.

Capt. Hunter Ramos was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He found his love for the outdoors at an early age, growing up spending his time hunting whitetail and fishing on the Texas coast. After graduating from Texas A&M University College Station in 2008, Capt. Hunter spent the next 16 years balancing his passion for fly fishing on the Texas coast with working in the corporate world.
