Guided Fly Fishing & Light Tackle Trips

The Doc offers year round fishing charters in the Corpus Christi, Rockport, Baffin Bay, and Port Aransas area. Whether you’re new to fishing or an experienced angler, Capt. Marcus will help you find the fish you’re looking for.

Sight casting will be the main technique used. The goal is see the fish before it sees you, making an accurate cast and present a fly or lure to the fish and watch as it explodes on the bait. There isn’t anything else like it, pure heart pounding action!

Throughout the day Capt. Marcus will be positioning his Ankona boat so you have the easiest cast possible. On most days you’ll see between 50-100 fish, but casting accuracy, patience and being quiet is needed to catch fish.

What to Bring:

You must have a valid Texas saltwater fishing license, which can be purchased online from TPWD.

To help you succeed in your day equipment you should bring a hat and a pair of polarized sunglasses. These two items are almost the most important gear in sight casting. They don’t need to be fancy just polarized. If you don’t have any just let the Doc know before the trip and he might have an old pair laying around. Light clothing in the summer months and warm layers and rain proof jacket in the winter is recommended.

The Doc provides all light tackle and fly equipment, tackle, and professional photography equipment. No need to bring a cooler for the boat. There is a 45 quart Yeti on the boat with iced down waters and plenty of room to bring more beverages and food if you want.
