The clinic has evolved into many different things through out the 10 years of operation, but has stayed consistent with the same goal; help people get into fly fishing with the most success as possible while having fun. Since 2020 Capt. Marcus “DOC”Haralson has seen the importance of a casting lesson or going over the basics with clients that are new or kind of rusty in regards to their casting. This has exponentially helped his clients be better saltwater fly fisherman and stewards of the Laguna Madre.
For 2023 the clinic is changing again. This year the clinic is going from the group setting in the classroom to the water in a private lesson format.
Private Casting lesson
You get to town the day before the 2 day on the water and do a casting lesson in the evening. Getting the questions you have answered and your casting prepped for a great two days of learning and fishing.
On day one you will meet up with your guide and spend the whole day on the Laguna Madre learning everything from: fly selection, wading techniques, how to read water, navigation, and all kinds of useful knowledge to help you become a more successful fly angler.
On the last day you take the things you've learned and help the guide make the game plan for the last day. This is where you get feedback as if you were going out on your own.
